It’s that time of our lives… we are approaching menopause, just started or already comfortable sailing in it. Menopausal ages vary drastically… some women start as young as 35 but most are from 45 to 50. Where ever you are on this journey you will need to embrace it as best you can.
I started menopause at the age of 49, 3 months prior to my 50th birthday. In the first 6 months I gained 10 kgs and started losing hair which became very noticeable. I was always around 55kg and within a couple of months of starting menopause I could see and feel my weight gain. I have never been this heavy, except when I was 75kg carrying twin daughters.
Initially I was extremely depressed. I then did what I do best - I researched. I found that vitamins could help with the hormonal changes I was going through, as well as the hair & weight loss and also help with my state of mind so I immediately stocked up and started taking these consistently… Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Apple Cider Vinegar and Omega 3.
I learnt that it was more important to take high doses of a few vitamins as opposed to taking a multi vitamin which had a little of a lot of vitamins.
I am now about 5 years into it and I have started getting more active, I have embraced my changing body, I have not had hot flushes (touch wood😊) or mood swings (I’m always in a bad mood hehehe!!!) and I still have an amazing amount of energy.
The signs of aging are creeping up and I am enjoying creating new and exciting products (AgePure) as my needs change.
Sugar is our worst enemy and thank goodness I have never had a sweet tooth, but, I have many clients who struggle with this not only with weight gain but with diabetes, etc. Sugar also makes you age prematurely and aggravates the signs of aging.
Something healthy and special I came up with for the sweet craving & to get some movement.
