My daughter invited me to attend the Plant Based Show at the ICC in Cape Town. I was excited to spend time with her but honestly did not expect much from the event itself. Was I in for a surprise:-)
My views on the show
I am an omnivore, I love food and 80% of the time I do actually prefer vegetarian. I am also pretty old fashioned in my choices - I like my food like I like my life - simple, healthy, natural, uncomplicated and wholesome. The event blew my mind. We were mesmerised from the time we entered till we left, about 3 hours later, with heavy bags full of goodies.
Every stall had vibrant people excited to tell you about their products or services and samples and tasters were handed out freely. Normally when we attend shows we walk around, spend most of our time at the food end where we have a meal, buy one or 2 things that look good and that's it. This was such a different experience. Because of the tasters at almost every stall we ended up buying more things because we fell in love with it and were so full by the end with all the little bites that there was no need for a full meal.
360 degree camera
It was a first time experience with the 360 degree rotation picture. I have seen it on social media and had no idea how it was done. We had so much of fun doing it even though I just laughed the whole time.
Oat Milk
I discovered Buttanutt Oat Milk for the first time as well and completely fell in love with it.
I do not have any food allergies so I have always had cows milk. But I am now converted to Oat Milk after understanding all the health benefits compared to cows milk.
The taste is smooth, nutty and so wholesome. Please try it if you haven't already. An added benefit of this brand is that it is vegan and gluten free for those who need it.
Recipe Book Giveaway
I purchased an interesting book that has about 84 plant based recipes. I thought it would be a lovely gift for one of my AgePure clients.
Lots of love
